The goal: Relight the paper lanterns of the Whispering Woods so every animal can get home after dark.
Your child’s part: Your child decides which small brave step to take next, from a footprint trail to a rope bridge. Each step they choose makes a lantern glow, so the evening paths open again and the Lantern Festival can happen.
Courage is trying something unfamiliar while still feeling a bit nervous. It’s not about having no fear, it’s about taking small, safe steps anyway.
Just gentle ideas to help you choose.
The story goal: Relight the paper lanterns of the Whispering Woods so every animal can get home after dark.

Finn says: “Oh! My tail is wobbling all by itself. Wiggle-wobble!”Finn
Here is the gate to the Whispering Woods. Creak! Finn stops.
His tail goes wiggle-wobble. Wiggle-wobble, wiggle-wobble!
Finn covers his tail with his paws. He feels a bit silly.
First, a choice: 3 options
On the printed page: Point to a spot on Finn, then colour it.
By the end they have: Finn picture with the wobbly spot coloured.
You will need: The big Finn picture on this page · One or two chunky crayons
Smaller step if needed: Just point to one spot on Finn. No colouring today.
The grown-up’s part: Read Finn's lines in a warm, slightly worried fox voice. Wiggle first and wiggle big. Any spot your child picks is right.
At bedtime, tell your grown-up about one wobbly moment from this week, real or made up for Finn.
What it practises: Practise noticing where a wobbly, nervous feeling shows up in the body, by finding it on Finn first.
