At Kidzplora, we believe that every child deserves opportunities to explore, play and discover their strengths.

We are committed to making our website, digital adventures and purchasing experience as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible for children, parents and guardians with different abilities and needs.

Accessibility is an ongoing consideration in how we design, develop and improve Kidzplora.

This statement explains our accessibility goals, current assessment status, known or potential limitations and how users can request assistance.

1. Our Commitment

Kidzplora aims to make its website, interactive adventures and printable materials accessible and enjoyable for as many families as possible.

We recognise that children have different abilities, learning needs and ways of interacting with digital experiences.

We are committed to improving accessibility across our platform and providing clear, age-appropriate and easy-to-navigate experiences.

1.1. Kidzplora aims to provide an inclusive digital experience for users with different visual, hearing, physical, motor, cognitive and learning needs.

1.2. Our target technical standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

1.3. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our development target, not a statement that every part of the Service currently conforms.

1.4. We recognise that accessibility needs vary and that meeting a technical standard does not necessarily remove every barrier for every user.

1.5. We aim to identify and address accessibility barriers through appropriate testing, improvements and user feedback.

2. Scope

2.1. This statement applies to Kidzplora's website and digital products, including:

  • a. Website navigation and product information.
  • b. Parent account registration and login.
  • c. Product selection, checkout and payment processes.
  • d. Parent dashboards and purchased-content libraries.
  • e. Interactive adventures, missions and activities.
  • f. Downloadable PDF activity books.
  • g. Relevant customer support functions.

2.2. Certain functions may depend on third-party technologies, including payment processors, authentication services and device accessibility features.

2.3. We aim to consider accessibility when selecting and integrating those services.

3. Accessibility Features and Considerations

When developing Kidzplora, we aim to consider:

  • Clear and understandable instructions.
  • Readable text and accessible visual presentation.
  • Consistent navigation.
  • Age-appropriate interactions.
  • Compatibility with commonly used devices and browsers.
  • Accessibility of downloadable materials wherever technically possible.

Our accessibility efforts are informed by recognised guidance, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

3.1. Our design and development approach aims to support the following where relevant and technically appropriate:

Navigation and interaction

  • a. Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls.
  • b. Visible keyboard focus indicators.
  • c. Logical navigation and reading order.
  • d. Clearly labelled links, buttons and form fields.
  • e. Appropriately sized touch targets.
  • f. Alternatives to interactions requiring precise dragging or complex gestures.

Visual accessibility

  • g. Readable text and appropriate colour contrast.
  • h. Compatibility with browser zoom and text resizing.
  • i. Text alternatives for meaningful illustrations.
  • j. Clear visual distinctions that do not rely on colour alone.
  • k. Support for relevant assistive technologies.

Adventure activities

  • l. Clear and age-appropriate mission instructions.
  • m. Alternative input methods where appropriate.
  • n. Picture, symbol or selection-based responses where suitable.
  • o. Opportunities to complete relevant creative activities offline, including on paper.
  • p. Read-aloud features where implemented and supported by the device or browser.
  • q. Reduced-motion support and controllable animations where appropriate.

3.2. The availability of individual features may depend on the activity, browser, device or stage of development.

3.3. Features described as development objectives should not be interpreted as confirmation that they have been implemented or independently verified.

3.4. This statement will be updated to reflect accessibility features confirmed to be available in the live Service.

4. Current Accessibility Status

4.1. As of the last update to this statement, Kidzplora has not completed a comprehensive accessibility assessment against WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

4.2. Its current assessment status is therefore not yet assessed.

4.3. We do not currently claim full or partial conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

4.4. Accessibility assessments may include automated testing, manual keyboard testing, screen-reader testing, mobile-device testing and functional testing of interactive activities.

4.5. Automated testing alone does not establish full accessibility conformance.

4.6. Following appropriate evaluation, we will update this section with verified findings, material limitations and the date of assessment.

5. Accessibility Limitations

Some interactive activities or downloadable materials may not work equally well with all devices, assistive technologies or accessibility settings.

We welcome feedback about accessibility barriers and will review reported issues to identify appropriate improvements or available alternatives.

5.1. Some content or features may not be accessible to every user or compatible with every device or assistive technology.

Printable PDF adventures

5.2. Kidzplora PDFs are designed primarily as illustrated activity books that may be printed and completed by hand.

5.3. Some PDFs may not initially contain all the structural tagging, text alternatives or reading-order information necessary for effective use with screen readers.

5.4. The online version of an adventure is intended to provide access to the same missions, but we do not claim that it is a fully equivalent accessible alternative unless that has been verified.

5.5. Users who require alternative formats may contact our support team.

Interactive activities

5.6. Certain missions may involve drawing, visual recognition, movement, symbol interpretation or physical interaction.

5.7. Where appropriate, we aim to provide alternative instructions or methods of participation.

5.8. Some activities may require parental assistance, modification or substitution.

Read-aloud and audio features

5.9. Where read-aloud functionality is available, it may depend on the user's browser, device or operating system.

5.10. The availability, language and quality of device-generated speech may vary.

Compatibility

5.11. Some older devices, browsers or assistive technologies may not support every feature.

5.12. Third-party payment and authentication interfaces may have accessibility limitations.

5.13. We will seek to investigate reported problems and provide appropriate assistance or legally required remedies.

6. Supporting Different Needs

6.1. We recognise that children have different abilities, learning preferences and support requirements.

6.2. Parents may adapt, repeat or skip activities where appropriate, subject to the safety provisions in our Terms of Use.

6.3. Alternative methods of completing activities may be used where available.

6.4. Parents remain responsible for determining whether an activity is suitable and safe for their child.

6.5. Kidzplora does not provide individualised medical, therapeutic, psychological or educational assessment services.

6.6. We do not guarantee that every Edition or activity can accommodate every individual requirement.

7. Accessibility Support

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of Kidzplora, please contact us using the support details provided on our website.

We will review accessibility concerns and aim to provide practical assistance wherever possible.

7.1. If you experience difficulties accessing the website, purchasing a product, using an adventure or opening a downloadable file, please contact:

  • b. A description of the difficulty.
  • c. The device or browser used, where relevant.
  • d. Any assistive technology involved, if you wish to share that information.
  • e. The type of assistance you are requesting.

7.3. You are not required to disclose medical diagnoses or sensitive information about yourself or your child to request accessibility assistance.

7.4. We aim to acknowledge accessibility enquiries within two working days.

7.5. Depending on the issue, we may provide navigation assistance, an alternative file or format, alternative instructions or a technical correction.

7.6. The time required to resolve an issue may vary depending on its complexity and the available technical solutions.

7.7. Where an accessibility issue means purchased content fails to meet applicable contractual or statutory requirements, the customer retains the remedies provided by law and our Refunds & Digital Purchases Policy.

8. Ongoing Improvements

8.1. We may periodically review and improve accessibility as the Service develops.

8.2. Improvements may include changes to navigation, interaction controls, document accessibility, assistive technology compatibility and alternative activity formats.

8.3. We will consider user feedback and the impact of identified barriers when prioritising improvements.

8.4. We do not guarantee that every proposed improvement will be completed by a specific date unless expressly committed to or required by law.

8.5. This statement will be updated when material changes, assessments or improvements warrant an update.

8.6. Nothing in this statement excludes or limits applicable accessibility or consumer protection obligations.
